Unfortunate and upsetting news that a fire which started in a local art gallery has spread to the Royal Clarence Hotel. Police and fire fighters are doing their best but it seems the roof of the Hotel has been completely destroyed already.
A Hotelowner.co.uk article states "Fire crews are currently at work at the site – a block of buildings on Cathedral Yard – using six breathing apparatus, one main jet, two monitors from a hydro platform, two ground monitors and also a drone."
Our thoughts go out to the Hotel owners and staff. The significance of the buildings being damaged is huge with so much history on the line. We haven't heard reports of any injuries which is the most important thing.
