Christchurch opens it’s first pet-friendly hotel
Clarity’s newest client Fino Hotel and Suites open their doors to both two-legged and four-legged guests. Pets are welcomed here to stay alongside their owners at this newly refurbished Christchurch hotel.
Hotel Manager Dilan de Silva said his family dog Jason inspired the unique accommodation solution. He said they "can't wait to welcome some pampered pets through the doors. We believe people holidaying in New Zealand with their pets have been missing out and we are now filling the gap."
The hotel is located on Kilmore St, opposite the Christchurch Town Hall. It went through a $15 million refurbishment as well as earthquake strengthening.
Three suites will be reserved for guests with pets in tow of the 48 apartment suites and four penthouse suites. "We have selected a number of rooms which will work better for pets and have easier access to the carpark," said De Silva.
Pet suites are equipped with water bowls, dog beds, kitty litter, as well as a specialised cleaning service once guests have left. "The rooms will be on a separate cleaning schedule to the rest of the hotel, to make sure any fur is cleaned up in time for the next guest."
There will also be dog walking and dog sitting services available soon.
"We already have about 10 bookings with pets for Fino, so it's going well," said De Silva. "A pet-friendly hotel may encourage a longer stop in Christchurch."
